Preskool Jurassic World

One of the segments that I worked on while supporting the Preskool team, was a stylized version of Jurassic World, that targeted the 3+ age bracket. This presented a number of challenges in terms of crafting the designs to fit into the existing Playskool Heroes line, while also appealing to kids and accommodating our licensor. This assortment involved a lot of mechanism design that catered to the hands and dexterity of a 3-year-old. to promote STOMP, CHOMP and ROAR play!

Jurassic World T-Rex

The PSH T-Rex represents the flagship of the Jurassic World line. This character features lights, and sounds, as well as a simple, repetitive play pattern that is a blast for kids.

Finding a Balance

A major challenge with developing products for a younger audience is finding a visual balance that is kid-cool, without being perceived as scary or on the opposite end of the spectrum, feeling too young. While developing a Preskool-appropriate dino segment, the T-rex was the perfect benchmark to find a style worth engaging.

Breadboard Model Development

This was a great segment to explore various play patterns and mechanism designs that would appeal to our younger audience. With tracking and catching themes infused throughout the line, there was a great balance of mechanism, lights, and sounds incorporated into the various assortments.
